High-quality tram connection

The Amsteltram is a high-quality tram connection from Amsterdam Zuid via Amstelveen to Uithoorn, designed to accommodate the growing number of passengers in the region. To this end, the existing Amstelveen Line was renovated and equipped with several grade-separated crossings and new (safety) systems. The renovated Amstelveen Line was subsequently extended through the construction of the Uithoorn Line. The Uithoorn Line is a completely new tram line, partly built on a former railway embankment. This development has resulted in the first regional tram connection in the Amsterdam region.

New trams

Partly as a result of this expansion of the tram network, GVB ordered new trams: the 15G (15th generation) trams. Between 2019 and 2022, 72 trams were delivered by supplier CAF, with the first trams deployed on the Amsteltram route.

End-to-end support

The lawyers involved drafted the contract and procurement documentation for the renovation of the Amstelveen Line, the construction of the Uithoorn Line and the procurement of the 15G trams. They also guided the procurement procedures and provided advice during the design, construction and testing phases of the projects.
