Zara advises and represents parties in the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors. She advises on and litigates a wide range of procurement and construction law matters, both in the preparation of procurement procedures and during project execution. Zara focuses, among other things, on guiding large and complex construction projects, such as the PALLAS Reactor in Petten, the renovation of the Amsterdam Museum, the development of an integrated child centre (ICC) at the Food Center site in Amsterdam, the renovation of Lelylaan railway station and the wastewater treatment plant in ’s-Hertogenbosch.
In addition to drafting and reviewing traditional construction contracts based on UAV and UAV-GC, she also drafts contracts involving advanced forms of collaboration, such as two-phase contracts (including construction teams), alliances and various Cost+ contracts (including NEC4 and FIDIC). She is also part of the drafting group for the Cost+ model agreement.
Zara is a lecturer at Conducto Training Procurement & Purchasing and an author of the SDU Commentary on Property Law. She also regularly publishes in Pont | Climate on sustainability.
