Ria has more than 30 years of experience as a lawyer and is a leading specialist in construction and procurement law. She has developed specific expertise in the infrastructure, utility construction, healthcare and social domain sectors.
Ria guides various (semi-)public organisations in procurement procedures and construction projects. She supports these organisations at every stage of the procurement process, from preparation through to award. Ria advises, among other things, on the choice of procurement procedure and contract model. In construction projects, she has extensive experience with various contract forms, such as UAV, UAV-GC, construction teams, alliances, two-phase contracts and Cost+.
Ria has a broad and successful track record in litigation before the civil courts, the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry and the Netherlands Arbitration Institute.
In addition to her law degree, Ria studied English language and literature. Since 2010, Ria has served as a deputy judge at the Arnhem-Leeuwarden Court of Appeal.
